If you want to become a pediatric dentist, you should know that this is a good idea. This part of dentistry has not been exploited as it should and there are a lot of places where you might be needed as a pediatric emergency dentist. If you want to be successful in this area, you should know some simple things about this kind of dentistry:
A toothache can be treated by cleaning the area of the affected tooth. Be sure to get rid of all the food remains using dental flush or rinsing the mouth with warm water. Don’t use aspirin on the affected jaw or tooth. For a cut or bitten tongue, you should apply ice to control swelling. If there is bleeding, apply a compress on the affected area.
For a knocked tooth all the emergency dentists agree that the best treatment is to try putting the tooth back by biting on gauze. If this isn’t working, try to remove the tooth completely and apply some recovering dentistry. Tell the parents not to worry as the permanent tooth will grow after a while.
A real problem might be a broken jaw. See if you can handle this problem and send your kid to the surgery room in case the fracture is severe.
